The First Time We Used Our China: aka Mother’s Day

Sorry for not posting much lately. To say life has been busy is a bit of an understatement.

I hope all the mother’s had a wonderful Mom’s Day! For mother’s day in the T-household we spent the morning celebrating my mom-in-law and g-mom-in-law at brunch at my in-laws house. Then my family came over to our house for a late lunch.

I have realized that as a newly wed not having lots of dishes and platters makes it a little harder to set an extra special table but I was bound and determined to do so anyway.

I broke out my dishes and got to decorating. Here’s my final product:

I was super stocked because this was actually the first time we had ever used our China. I was super excited to use it and get to share it with my family as until recently (prior to when the hubs made this pretty china cabinet) it had been in boxes in the attic collecting dust. I also decorated by filling glass jars full of flavored water which my mom and g-mom loved.

I turned my antique ironing board into a side buffet for the lunch and used it to hold the presents.

All in all our mother’s day was a wonderful day spent honoring our moms and g-moms. I am so thankful to be the third generation to a legacy of these wonderful women:
