Wizarding World of Harry Potter

The weekend of Valentine’s Day the hubs and I finally had the chance to experience the magical world I had been wanting to see for a long time…Harry Potter world! And boy did it live up to my expectations.

Harry Potter World, which is located inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure park, features the entire themed world of wizardry. I mean really if you are even the slightest bit of a Harry Potter fan this park is mind blowing! The main attraction is the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride which takes you through the castle and Hogwarts life. On the ride you, as the first muggle that is allowed into the school, actually fly on a broomstick through the castle and get to meet Hermonie, Ron, and of course Harry.

Universal really thought through every little detail when designing the park. Even waiting in line is a blast as you get to experience things such as the sorting hat, Dumbledore’s office, and more! Every detail of the park (all the way down to the fact that Moaning Myrtle talks to you in the woman’s bathroom) is finely crafted to enhance the experience.

The merchandise is wonderful but expensive. Items for sale include quaffles and bludgers, chocolate frogs, remembralls, sneakoscopes and just about every joke you can think of in the famous Weasley joke shop.  The Three Broomsticks’ food is good, and not nearly as overpriced as I expected. The famous Butterbeers are quite tasty but the name is misleading since they are non-alcoholic. Warning: they are very sweet and frozen is the best way to go!

Disclaimer the lines were very, very long but the experience is awesome!
