We Are Home Owners

After almost a full year of looking for a home, placing multiple offers, and going through a saga of housing horror stories(which you can read about here and here and here and here and here…I do realize I sound like an emotional wreck in these posts as I bounce from ecstatic to depressed back to ecstatic but, honestly, that’s the way I felt) it is finally over!

WE ARE FINALLY HOMEOWNERS!

We closed on our home the beginning of this week (yes it got pushed even further back from my last post) and still have lots and lots to unpack but we are officially moved in! No more living out of boxes! Here she is in all her glory:

I can honestly say that buying a house (this house in particular) took the award for the most stressful, emotional, hardest decision and process I’ve ever made/been through. I know you all probably think I’m all crazy but really I’ve only blogged about 10% of all we went through to get this house so I am beyond excited to finally call it home.

There are so many things to do once you own a home. The last week has been crazy for us…especially since I work full time and have only been able to unpack and get things done in between the hours of 6:30pm until whenever I can no longer keep my eyelids open.

Just some of the things you go through once you own the house you might not have thought of: moving all your stuff; unpacking and find a home for all your stuff; setting up gas, electricity, and water; setting up TV and Internet (wow is that a monopoly or what!); pressure washing the house and drive way; painting the outside (let’s not even begin to talk interior yet); cleaning; setting up the HOA; the list goes on and on! But all that to say it’s totally worth it to own your own home!

Oh and on a funny note the only neighbor we have met so far was one that knocked on our door at 7pm last night to ask us to sign a petition to a new board member joining the HOA…I hope this isn’t going to be a reoccurring problem, lol…

Stay tuned: lots of pictures coming soon as I begin to get unpacked.

yay for your new home! I love moving in, hate moving out. My sister went through many failed offers trying to buy in Florida so I know what you're talking about.
