Rainy Day on the Big Day

Every bride’s nightmare…rain on their wedding day! (Especially for the brave brides like myself who are determined to take the risk and get married outdoors!)

Unfortunately it rained poured on my big day. So what do you do if it rains on your wedding day?!? How can you be prepared in case the ‘unthinkable’ happens?! So here we go…the DOs and DON’Ts of rain on your wedding day.

1. DON’T panic! At the end of the day you will still be married to the man you love!
2. DO have rainboots nearby in case you must walk down the isle in them…I did! (FYI heels do not work to well in wet grass…)

3. DON’T worry about your dress…it will be covered in mud by the end of the night! (but it’s ok because let’s be honest…you’re not really ever going to have the chance to wear it again anyway)
4. DO be prepared in advance with monogrammed umbrellas for you and all your girls! (this was a wedding gift to me from one of my friends, and although I joke with her that she jinxed me with rain, I was sooo thankful to have the umbrellas when it ended up raining)

5. DON’T forget about your bridesmaids! If you aren’t wearing heels anymore neither should they! (my girls ended up ditching their heels at the end of isle and walking down barefoot…the guests loved this)
6. DO be prepared for lots of adorable pictures rainy day wedding pictures! Get creative and have fun because you only get one big day and on the bright side (no pun attended) apparently rain on your wedding day is supposed to mean you will be wealthy one day!

Weigh in: Did you have a rainy day experience? If so, we’d love to hear your experience! Do’s/Don’ts?
Please leave a comment and let us know about your experience.

Oh man! I was determined to have an outdoor wedding as well, and my mom would always ask, "What if it rains?" and I would respond, "Then we will get wet." Luckily for us, it didn't rain. Yours still looks like it was amazing though despite the rain.

Thanks for checking out my blog. I am always thrilled to see new followers.
