Camping a Few Hours Drive from Atlanta

Who can get over the beautiful weather Atlanta has been having lately? Looking for a fun outing this weekend?  Why not go camping?

There are some great campsites in between Ellijay, GA and Blue Ridge, GA that are totally free! There you will find a beautiful, serene, scenic camping environment where it is free to camp. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Ellijay is known for its vast apple orchards and is often referred to as the “Apple Capital of Georgia.”
The camp sites are along a river and offer tent pads and fire pits. The ground is flat and is the perfect place to set up ladder golf or throw a Frisbee. In the summertime make sure to bring your bathing suit as the camp sites are along the side of a creek that looked very appetizing had it been a little bit warmer outside. There are plenty of nature walks at the site including a waterfall you can easily hike to view. The sites are very secluded so it would be the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a quite weekend with the family.
There is also a drive-in movie theater in Blue Ridge, Georgia that is a ton of fun and very affordable. You can easily drive to the movie from your campsite. If you are interested in more information feel free to leave a comment or send me an email.
