Book Review Dark Rising: Book #2 of the Archangel Prophecies

Thank you to Monica McGurk for sponsoring this post. Click here to check out Dark Hope: Book One of the Archangel Prophecies by Monica McGurk.

If you have been reading my blog since last August you will remember me posting about the first book in the Archangel Prophecies Trilogy called Dark Hope: Book One of the Archangel Prophecies. Well, I am excited to tell you that Monica McGurk has done it again! I had the opportunity to read her second book in the series and it did not disappoint.

Dark Rising written by Monica McGurk continues the story of Hope Carmichael who is the survivor of a child abduction and currently on the run. The only problem is Hope is not completely sure who she is running from…the mark on her neck has branded her and the Fallen Angels think that Hope is the long lost answer to getting in to Heaven by force. Hope, on the other hand, is searching down the true item that will open Heaven’s gates so she can destroy it all while also running from the group of human traffickers that are searching for their revenge. This book explores some deep themes including love, jealousy, fate, trust, and identity.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to my friends. However, I must warn you. This book similar to the first in the series, is one that will get you thinking about some deep and even dark themes including human trafficking and empowerment.

For those of you who don’t know Monica McGurk (the author) is passionate on ending human trafficking and a huge advocate for women.  You can check her out on social media below:
