#WorldofCars Disney Planes Shopping Brings Back Memories from Our Family History

With my excitement about the new Disney Planes the movie, as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias® , I had the opportunity to go shopping for Planes toys. This shop was compensated as part of a social shopper insights study.

I love Disney Pixar Films. In the last few years one of my favorite newer Disney movies is Disney Pixar Cars. So, I was really, really excited when they announced there was going to be a squeal to Cars the movie called Disney Planes the movie! How many of you have already seen this movie? If you have seen it what did you think?  I can not wait to take my nephews to go see it! That’s on the to-do list as soon as we can find a free Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

On that note my nephew’s birthday is coming up next week. He is going to be four (ah, he’s growing up SO fast on me)! I knew for his birthday I wanted to get him a toy from Disney Planes since all he talks about is this movie but still wanted to do some research to find the perfect toy from this movie to give him!

While shopping Walmart’s online website for the #WorldofCars campaign I came across a toy for Disney Planes that I knew I just had to get!

In case you can’t tell from the picture it’s an Aircraft Carrier Disney Planes toy! The reason I was so excited about this toy is because my father-in-law (nephew’s grandfather) was in the Navy and served for many years on a Aircraft Carrier. My nephew has grown up hearing stories about the Aircraft Carrier days from his grandfather and will proudly tell anyone his grandfather was in the Navy. So when I saw this toy I knew it would be a major hit!

Here is a picture of it on the shelf along with some other cool toys (bottom right of picture):

I had so much fun shopping for the Planes toys and looking at all the awesome eye captivating displays. Since I don’t have kids of my own yet I rarely get to shop the toy aisle and ‘be a kid again’ but love getting the opportunity to do so when I shop for my nephews.

One of my friends went shopping with me also and we had a blast checking everything out and even playing with a few toys in the aisle, haha.

If you want to see all the pictures from my Disney Planes shopping adventure check out my Google+ album here.

Want to hear a funny story? So I brought the Aircraft Carrier toy home and had set it on our kitchen counter. My husband and his friend saw it and thank goodness I caught them before they opened it. They practically begged me to let them open it and play with it, lol. They said it looked like a lot of fun! Oh boys, they never grow up!

What’s your Disney Planes toy must have? Do you think I made a good choice in choosing the Disney Planes Aircraft Carrier?

UPDATE:

I wanted to update you guys on what my nephew thought of his gift. To say he LOVED his Disney Planes toy is putting it lightly. Here’s some photos of him playing with friends with his new toys (my favorite is the photo of the plane he threw up and got stuck in the tree…grandpa to rescue)!

Really? It looks so fun! The funny part was when I brought it home I had it siting on my kitchen counter and my husband and some of his friends saw it and asked if they could open it cause they said it looked fun. I replied, "no" of course, lol! But I thought that it was funny grown men wanted to play with it!
