Treasure Hunting with a Surprise Purpose

We went treasure hunting this past weekend. Translation (as my regular readers know) that means we went hit up some yard sales. ๐Ÿ™‚

We got a late start and were lucky enough to find a fundraising yard sale and auction. Usually I’m not a big fan of fundraising yard sales because generally the cause is unknown and it means the prices are much higher than normal yard sale prices. But this time was the exception.

I was super excited because:
1. The cause was to support a little girl who was being adopted (the really cool part was the girl was actually at the sale and auction as she was currently being fostered by the family who was trying to raise the money to adopt her). As you all already know I have a huge heart for adoption so I was determined to find something to buy.
2. There was an auction. If you’ve been following me then you know that this is the second auction I have attended recently. I have only recently discovered how much fun auctions are so when I discovered this one I was equally as excited!

Help a girl get a permanent home and have fun? Yes please!

I first shopped their yard sale where I found:

This wire basket for 50 cents!

This vase from Paris for 50 cents!

I was super excited about my finds but equally as excited about the possibility to find some treasures in the silent or live auction to help support this girl.

Although I didn’t win anything in the silent auction (I got outbid on all four items I bid on) I did find a goody in the live auction but I came name what I purchased since I bought it as a Mother’s Day gift. ๐Ÿ™‚
