For all of you northerners who are getting pounded by snow this week I have a fun recipe/creation for you to try that we made last week during our Atlanta snow storm for Snow Cream! It is really easy to make and delicious! It really tastes just like homemade ice cream!
To make all you need is:
- 6 cups of fresh snow
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla

If and when it snows here again we are def making this. My little man would just go nuts about it! They were calling for 5 inches of snow last night, but it got updated to NO snow. 🙁 Actually I can live without snow, but little ones they want their snow!

Ah, I hear you! Although I do enjoy a few snows days off work each year! 🙂

Well, we have about 20 inches of snow out here in Connecticut and I think more is coming tonight, too. Good thing I like snow, huh?
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
20 inches? Holy cow I can't even imagine! Post some pics!

Thank you!

Sounds like a good way to deal with all the snow around this year. I think I've got at least a couple feet of snow out in my front yard right now. I better give this a try!

I'll have to give this a try today~ We were just covered in a "lovely" two MORE feet of snow. Might as well put it good use! #sitsblogging

I have seen you around blog world and really had every intention into coming over and saying hi! I had no idea you were from Atlanta! I am about 30 minutes north of the city! Still considered Metro Atlanta! We still have a little snow from this week but I don't think I have tried making snow cream with any of our snow! It was too close to the ground and could have grass and other gross stuff! =)
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
Wow, let me know what you think if you try it! Thanks for stopping by!
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
Hi Cate! So nice to "meet" you! So glad you stopped by! I agree…I only eat snow that is several inches off of my clean car or outdoor table. No telling what is in the grass. 😉
Going to check out your blog now! 🙂
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
You are so right! Although I have not determined how to make moose tracks yet..my fav! 😉
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
Wow, sounds cold! Stay warm and enjoy!

I was so tempted to make this but I was not sure if it fresh snow is safe for eating. Now that I have seen your post I will make this… #sitsblogging.
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
I only use the snow off the top of the cars…still probably not the healthiest thing int he world but I don't think it'll kill ya. 🙂
BrettBMartin says
I need hubby to go back to work so we can make this. he's not a fan of snow eating so we will do it when he's at work 😉
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
Ha, I hear ya! I just try to not think about what might be in it. 🙂

Would you send some of the snow out here to California so we could try some?
We seem to be skipping winter in my neck of the woods this year.
Chelsea @ Married Filing Jointly says
Ha, I wish! It's fun to get once or twice a year until it closes down your city! We can house trade for a week? Although I'm hoping our snow is over for the year. We'll see! 🙂
