Our Top 6 Ideas for Local Fun on a Saturday with your Kiddos
Spring has sprung, the weather is beautiful, the birds are chirping and it is the perfect time of year to get your family out of the house for a fun, family Saturday adventure! Below you will find a list of a few of our favorite local spots to spend a Saturday.
Peachtree City and Senoia Farmers Market –
If you have not yet visited the farmer’s market you are missing out big time! Arrive early for the best finds! For the Peachtree City Market visit anytime from 9am-1pm… Be sure to snag a donut from the sweetest, most adorable family at Finkles Bake Shop and an iced coffee from Blue Donkey’s coffee truck. You will also want to grab a bouquet of beautiful fresh flowers and can stock up on fresh produce and homemade baked goods, local honey, delicious teas to enjoy at home, and so much more!
Or visit the Senoia Farmers market from 8:30am-1pm for more delicious goodies and a super fun bar for the adults! Grab some delicious breakfast tacos or a breakfast croissant from Lisa’s Creperie, fresh lavender from Wild Daisy Farm, hot pickles from Brewer’s Fire and so much more! Kids and adults alike will have a blast walking around, tasting delicious drinks and treats and soaking in the fun, family friendly atmosphere!
Splatterdash –
Splatterdash is such a fun place to visit on a rainy or hot Saturday or for when you are ready to get out of the heat! This amazing art studio located in Peachtree City lets you choose your canvas or they have lots of fun pottery options and other pieces to choose from and then you can create until your heart’s content! Stocked with a variety of paint colors and options, glitter, and tons of other fun supplies that can be added to your art work, it is the place to go to become an artist! Enjoy making a mess in a safe and fun environment without destroying your own home! We love that they have inspiration designs you can copy or you can choose to create your own art from scratch. They encourage mess and creativity! Splatterdash is a ton of fun and a great way to make super special memories with your kids or even a great place to visit for a special day date!
Andy’s Frozen Custard –
If you have not yet visited Andy’s Frozen Custard you are MISSING OUT. Located in Fayetteville, it is our favorite afternoon spot to hit up for a delicious treat! Not only is the customer service top notch but they are currently offering a limited edition Strawberry Shortcake Sundae and it is everything wonderful and delicious about spring and summer in a cup! And don’t miss trying their Blueberry Chocolate Chip Concrete! If you have never tried custard it is a creamier version of ice cream and so delicious. Order your Andy’s Frozen Custard to go and head over to nearby Church Street Park –
This fun playground and basketball court right behind the square in downtown Fayetteville was recently renovated and is a great place to go and burn some energy! There is usually not a large crowd and it has play equipment for kids of all ages! This playground also has shaded picnic tables and a lending library to checkout.
Trilith –
If you haven’t visited the Trilith development it is a true hidden gem! Located in Fayette County this amazing complex offers restaurants, shops, and a fun natural park for the kids to burn some energy. They also have a splash pad play area and often have live music, vendors, and fun festivals on spring Saturdays! Grab some lunch or a donut, check out the playground and splashpad, visit the robotic grocery store, and spend some time learning about the amazing arts at this innovative development.
Geocaching –
Download the FREE Geocache app and spend some time hunting for local treasures! This app will give you waypoints to locate a hidden treasure chest. Inside the located Geocache you will find small treasures – bring some of your own so you can leave something behind and exchange treasures! Our kids LOVE doing this on a Saturday afternoon.
