Nursery Tour #6: Custom Lamps from Perrelle Designs

I am excited to share with you the newest post in a series of posts on our little guy’s nursery. This post features the adorable custom lamp in his room from Perrelle Designs!

Jon and his brother, Jeremy, decided to take their love for building and invention and turn it into a business. Jon and Jeremy, along with their father, Neal, founded Perrelle Designs (a family based company out of their family home in LaGrangeville, NY) and began making their first product, The Letter Lamp, in 2012. The Letter Lamp is the only personally customized lamp available on the market today. Jon, Jeremy and Neal hand make every letter lamp out of durable and beautiful hardwoods (each lamp is made out of durable 5/4″ thick hardwood from a local lumberyard), shaping them into a letter of the alphabet. They also make names, words, acronyms, or abbreviations upon request.

One of my favorite aspects of the lamps (since I am using it in a nursery) is that they use UL listed parts for all their lamps and non-toxic/child-safe paints. They also hand-make all the lamp shades in a room inside their family house.

Currently, they specialize in children’s desk/table lamps and lamp shades but they do sell a few more traditional “spindle” lamps that they make by hand-turning them on a lathe. Basically these guys are master woodcraft men :)! They are also happy to to custom make other furniture or decor upon request. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the quality of lamp and you simply can not beat the handmade flair! Here is another photo of the lamp in his room on his night stand:

Because everything is handmade, they specialize in customizing lamps! Their standard lamps are letters and animals but they have made everything from a golfer as the base of the lamp to a skull with crossbones as a base. (I’m thinking a bulldog would be awesome for my University of Georgia themed bonus room)! They can also customize the lamp shade to any fabric that is available from their supplier or that a customer provides them with. The lamps and lamp shades truly are unique and one-of-a-kind!  They are the only maker of Letter Lamps anywhere and currently have a patent pending on the design.

They sell almost exclusively through their Etsy shop. However, if someone is interested in ordering outside of Etsy, you can contact them via email at perrelledesigns@gmail.com or by phone at (845) 416-4133.

I have some exciting news! Perrelle Designs is offering my readers an extra 10% discount off their purchase from their Etsy store by using code: MFJ001

This Etsy store truly is a unique, awesome, find that I’m sure many of you will want to become customers of! Here are some photos of some of the other lamps they currently have for sale on their Etsy shop that I really like:
