The Liebster Blog Award is an award given by bloggers to other bloggers, who have less than 200 followers (or have been blogging for less than 6 months). It is to show newer bloggers that they are appreciated, and to help spread the word about new blogs. It was created to promote appreciation and recognition among the blog world. Liebster translates to “dearest” (or favorite/best) in German. It is also known as the Love Blog Award.

3. What’s your family like?Well my immediately family is just me and hubs. We are crazy and in love and have so much fun together all the time. If you extend the family my family is great. It’s me, my mom, dad, and grandmother. We love spending time together and all always up for and adventure and party!
4. What is your favorite blog post you have ever done and why?I think it changes depending on my mood. More recently I love my post on my china cabinet makeover because so much effort was put into it and I am in love with the result. I also love my post about the time I Iocked myself in my bedroom while I was still a fresh newly-wed and had to call my in-laws (my husband was already at work) to come rescue me so I could go to work. Talk about embarrassing but also very funny!
5. What are your favorite blogs and why do you love them?There are my blogs I love but I will say my first favorite blog was Keight Duke’s blog Put a Pure Dukes. Keight and her husband are friends of mine from church and Jesse, her husband, actually sang in our wedding. Keight is fantastic writer and is so real when she writes which is why her blog is so attractive to many.l
6. How long have you been blogging and why did you start?This is a perfect follow up question to the previous question. I actually decided to start a blog in November 2011 after reading Keight’s blog. Reading about her life adventures really made me want to start documenting my own. Why did I start? My initial spark and and encouragement from a co-worker, another pro blogger (Spa Travel Gal), Ava Roxanne, who really encouraged me to get started in blogging so I could be her blogging buddy and attend a spa event with her.
7. Who is your hero?Jesus- No doubt.
8. What is your favorite memory of all time?No way I could break it down to one memory. But I must say I have a few favorites…lake memories with my family and my honeymoon to St. Lucia with my husband are in the top five!
9. Who is your favorite author?Nicholas Sparks! His books are my favorite!
10. If you could meet anyone in the world, who and why?Again Jesus. Easy.

My 11 random things:
1. When I got married I went from being a Thoms to a Thompson. True story. I was super stoked because I kept my monogram.
2. The one and only sport I have ever loved is cheerleading. I started cheering when I was five and sadly gave it up when I went to college. I have cheered and coached and love everything about it.
3. It rained on my wedding day. My wedding and my reception were outdoors and it was raining so hard that my aunt and uncle had to empty all the glasses for the reception (three different times) and dry them out.
4. My musical taste is incredibly varied. Any given playlist on my iPod may contain country, pop, old school, and Christian music.
5. This one is a sort of a secret…Although we don’t have any children yet my husband and I decided on the name for our future son when we were still dating and still refer to him by that name. We have told NO ONE of the name and plan to keep it a secret until we actually have a son.
6. My favorite shows growing up were Little House on the Prairie and Full House. I was totally addicted to both.
7. I love Mexican food. It is my absolute fav.
8. My favorite way to workout is to Zumba. I secretly love to dance.
9. I am slightly OCD. I do not like for things to be left uncompleted and love to create to-do lists just so I can check things off the list.
10. I have gone on an Easter Egg Hunt every year my entire life. I still go on one and now my husband, brother, and I put on a egg hunt for my parents and grandparents every year as well.
11. God is my hero! I am consistently overwhelmed by his grace and the plan he has set out for my life!

1. What is your dream home?My dream home would be a craftsman style home wit lots of space and a beautiful backyard to have lots of friends over all the time. I would also have a large kitchen and large walk-in closet with a island in the middle of the closet and a place for all my shoes.
2. What is your favorite song and why?Wow…that’s a hard one…my favorite changes constantly. Currently it is Waka Waka by Shakira.
