Hodge Podge Tuesday Favorites
I have decided to try a new series on my blog called Hodge Podge Tuesdays in which I will share with you some of the hodge podge of my favorite events, ideas, tips, tricks, & favorite randomness from the previous week. I want to keep it short and sweet and share about 5 items. I would love reader’s feedback on this new series. What do you like/not like? What do you want to see/not see? Thanks in advance and I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
O.k. without further ado here is my first Hodge Podge Tuesday Favorites:
1. Baby’s first Easter
Easter is one of my favorite holidays because of what it means to me. My faith is everything to me and I am so thankful Jesus died on the cross to forgive me. Lord knows I need his forgiveness! This year was extra special in that it was our son’s first Easter. I was so incredibly excited to dress him up in his Easter best, make him an Easter basket, and take him on egg hunts. He had a ball.
2. Jill Duggar FINALLY had her baby
Yes, I am a Dugger fan. I love to watch this show. Something about having 19 kids intrigues me to no end and I have enjoyed following Jill Duggar and her husband, Derek, on Instagram and watching their love story unfold. After Derek posted a picture of Jill 41 weeks and 4 days pregnant I have been literally cheering for this poor girl’s baby to make his arrival already. I know how ready you get at the end and she was over cooked. Little Israel David Dillard was born last night at 11:49 pm and was 9 lbs 10 oz. Was anyone else surprised that the posted media picture appears to be in a hospital? I totally thought Jill of all people who had been a home delivery mid wife to so many would have her baby at home. Very interesting indeed. I’m sure there will be more to come on this.
3. Reading “The Best Yes” by Lysa Terkeurst
Granted I am only half way done but I am loving reading this book. it is all about making wise decisions in the midst of endless demands. It is perfect for the overwhelmed, worn out, over committed parent. If you are the kind of person who dreads saying yes but feels powerless to say no I would highly encourage you to read this book. It is based on the premise that God only wants us to say YES to the BEST yes. You can read more about this book here.
4. Farmhouse pasture sale
I had such an amazing weekend. I decided to take last Friday off as a vacation day and spent the day shopping a local farm pasture sale with my mom, M-I-L, grandmom, and son. The sale happens once a year and consists of lots of local craft and antique vendors setting up tents in a field. If nothing else the event is a great place to get ideas on projects. I purchased an airplane decor for my grandmother (sorry I forgot to take a picture) and a few prints I scored for $3 a piece. I stained the frames in the prints (pictured above) and plan to hang them this evening. Thanks to everyone who voted on Facebook about whether I should paint or stain.
I was so excited to find out about this resource for parents online. The website features a set of free lesson plans that help parents instill Christ honoring character traits in their kids. It features scriptures, fun crafts, recipes that hone in on whatever characteristic you want to choose for the week. They provide Bible stories that correlate with that theme and verses you can memorize, along prayers for both you and your child. I am so excited to start implementing this with my little guy.
And there you have it! There are my Hodge Podge of Tuesday Favorites! What did you think?
Hi Chelse, That's the cutest little Easter bunny, absolutely adorable! Thanks for sharing your photos and your life with us at Wake Up Wednesday Linky Party. Angel
I thought that too about Jill. I wonder if she became a little bit of a risk since she was so far overdue so they suggested a hospital?? That baby was born a toddler! I love the vintage bird prints! They fit perfectly in your home!
