Spring time! It is officially my second favorite time of the year (second only to Christmas). I love this time of the year because the weather is practically perfect (minus the awful yellow dust ((better known as pollen)) here in the air in Georgia), the flowers and trees are in bloom, and bunnies and duckies are popping up in every aisle of Target.
I thought it would be fun to show you what I did with my mantle this year to decorate for Easter and to highlight some of the things I am working on this year to get my house spring ready.
I will start by show casing some photos of the mantle in my home this year and also my table centerpiece. I used my antique egg molds and filled them with green paper grass and colored eggs. The kids love it and it secretly makes me very happy as well but the best it was super easy and makes a pretty (or so I think) and super simple Easter decoration.
Another fun thing we are doing to get our house ready for spring is planting flowers and getting a garden ready for the summer. We had a blast this past weekend picking out and purchasing the plants and now we just need to plant. I will showcase our planting once we get those done.
We have also recently just had almost the entire interior of our house painted. As you guys know we purchased a new home in September and were in need of repainting to match our tastes. The colors we choose are very ‘spring like’ and are putting me in the spring mood for sure. Here are some photos of our most intimate space…I am being transparent and letting you guys in on the playroom space today so lots of grace, please. 🙂
This year I also decided to celebrate spring by getting a new set up sheets for our master. After being married for 8+ years we were way overdue for new sheets so I got a set of GhostBed Luxury sheets as I figured spring time felt like the right time to do so. We have been very pleased with the sheet set as they have a super luxurious blend of Supima Cotton + Tencel Fibers (and my favorite feature) this great thing called GhostGrip (check it out below) so that your fitted sheet will stay on securely and never pop off. Tencel is a special form of rayon, a natural fiber that is chemically treated to make it soft, strong and absorbent. It also comes with an awesome industry leading 3 year warranty so if something happens to your sheets they will send you a new set! Yes, the GhostBed luxury sheets are the softest sheets that I ever have slept in. They feel like silk. And I love when I slip between the two sheets in my bed and they are comfortably cool. But they aren’t slippery like satin. Its simply a completely relaxing and satisfying feeling. That’s because unlike ordinary sheets, the GhostBed sheet set is specifically crafted for cooling and comfort to promote a healthy sleep. No longer do I wake up covered in sweat! According to GhostBed, their sheets are 50% more absorbent than cotton sheets. The GhostBed queen sheet set runs a pretty penny — $185 for 2 pillow cases, and 1 flat feet and 1 fitted sheet. But as someone who is extremely hot natured when I learned of the cooling comfort of the GhostPillow I just knew that I had to have it. If you are in the market for a good sheet set (and especially if you are hot natured) I would encourage you to check them out.
What are you doing to get ready for the spring?
