Baby’s First Swim #Swimways

I participated in a Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for SwimWays. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

We had the opportunity to take our little guy to the pool for the very first time last week. And he loved every moment of it! Since we are water people I was thrilled. We all know that a smooth transition creates a life long love of water and swimming! Between the lake, pool, and beach we spend a large majority of our summer on the water so the fact that he not only didn’t hate it but really seemed to enjoy it made us so glad and excited for this summer!

We started out in the baby pool and thanks to the I-C #SwimWays baby float quickly made our way to the ‘big kid’ pool. He loved it. Laid back, relaxed, splashing his hands and enjoying the water.

The SwimWays baby float can be bought from Toys R Us among other retails. The Baby Spring Float is the the perfect product to introduce baby to the water for the first time like we did. I especially love the SPF sun roof feature so baby does not get burnt. SwimWays has created the Swim Steps line of products like this one to help children become confident swimmers.

As fun as water can be it can also bring fear as the number of little ones drowning each year is a scary statistic. With how much we are around the water is is EXTREMELY important to me to not only make sure our little guy is comfortable around water but knows how to swim. National Learn to Swim Day is May 16th. This day is designed to remind parents to kick off summer safely by engaging their children in water safety and swim instructions. SwimWays believes that swimming is an important life skill and that all children should have the opportunity to learn to swim. This will be the fourth annual National Learn to Swim Day. We are actively working with our little guy to teach him the basics like kicking his feet, blowing bubbles, and jumping in the pool to us. Water safety is no joke and should not be taken lightly. I found this website which has some great tips on what to teach your little one so they are safe and confident in the water.

What do you you do to ensure water safety with your little ones? Any tips on teaching a baby to swim you have found helpful?
