5 Ways I am Learning to Be Less Stressed

Let’s admit it. We live busy lifestyles. Whether we work inside or outside the home, volunteer in our community, take care of our kids, take care of ourselves, or do it all we are busy! Busy lifestyles tend to lead to stressful lives. If my husband and I thought we were busy and stressed before coming parents add in being solely responsible for a human being, very little sleep, and about 1,500 more to-do’s each week and your head starts to spin!

We are learning…slowly might I add…that we can not do it all…which means we have to say no to more so we can say yes to the best things. I think we would all agree we are at our best when we are stress free.

Minimizing stress is different for everyone. For me it’s combination of the below things:

  1. Spending time focusing on my health and well being by attending Barre class
  2. Spending time in prayer and reflection in my quite time with the Lord
  3. Having time to spend focusing on my husband
  4. Time to focus on my son and playtime with him
  5. Time to nurture my friendships with my friends

I find that if I am able to accomplish the above 5 tasks stress stays away. The challenge becomes finding time to accomplish these tasks. As I mentioned above I am learning that to have time to focus on my 5 items above I am learning I have to say no to more. I am currently in the process of reading an awesome book that I would encourage you all to read called “The Best Yes” by Lysa Terkeurst. This book is really helping me gain prospective on what to say no to and on how to make decisions.

I have also learned that just like a marriage or friendship there are times in your life that your tank for your “me” categories will be fuller than others. There will be days where your life feels like it is caving in upon you. Something unravels at work. Your child is sick for the 10th day in a row and you are going on 2 weeks of no sleep. Everything in your home is literally falling apart at once. These are the days you have to swallow, thank God your alive, and get through so you can make it to the wonderful days again. These are also the days you look at pictures like the below picture of the beach and wish you were there…right? HA!

I have recently discovered a product called RESCUE that is a natural stress relief assistance. RESCUE Remedy is the natural way to help restore your inner calm and regain control in stressful situations and contains nothing but natural ingredients. If you are like me you want to know more. My main question is what is this natural product made of? Turns out it was developed by a doctor and is a flower!

  • Rock Rose for confidence & composure
  • Impatiens for patience & tolerance
  • Clematis for focus & motivation
  • Star of Bethlehem for comfort & reassurance
  • Cherry Plum for self-control & stability

On those really hard days I mentioned above I have personally tried this product (I purchased the RESCUE Pastilles which are chewables) and it seems to help me turn my brain off at night. If you are interested in trying this product you can download a coupon here. RESCUE stress relief products are available now in the US at CVS, Walgreens, Whole Foods, Sprouts and wherever you find natural products!

What tips/tricks do you have for reducing stress?

First off, that is a beautiful sunset. This winter, the skies were pastel shades of purples, pinks and blues instead of gray, which has been amazing.

Secondly, it's amazing how a little prayer can help us be less stressful. "Let go, and let God", as they say. Glad to have found your blog!!!

Isn't that sunset amazing? That was last April in Destin on our babymoon. 🙂

You are so very right! So comforting to know God has it all in control! We are truly blessed!
