5 Spring Must Dos with Your Kids

It finally feels like spring in Georgia and minus all the yellow in that air and the lovely “P” word that spring brings with it this momma is loving every minute. Spring is one of my most favorite times of the year and this gorgeous spring weather is making me think about all of my favorite spring to-dos with my our kids. Today I thought I would share some of our favorites.

  • Go yard sale shopping – With spring comes that itch to do some spring cleaning and clear out some of your no longer wanted items. Take advantage of this and take your kids on some fun Saturday morning garage sale shopping. Our favorite thing to do is to give each kid a couple of dollars and let them bargain for their own deals on their most wanted items. What better way than to teach your kids about money and how to save, spend, and negotiate than allowing them to learn hands on at an early age. You just may be surprised at what treasures you find!
  • Plant a garden – Now is the time to start thinking about what summer veggies and fruits you would love to have grown in your own yard and planting your garden. Even though I don’t have a very green thumb our kids have a blast planning our garden and planting (playing in the dirt) and get so much joy out of it when something is actually grown and able to be picked.
  • Break out resurrection eggs – If you don’t have any I highly recommend you purchase them. Spring means Easter and what better way to teach your kids about Jesus and the story of Easter than with resurrection eggs. These awesome eggs tell the story of Easter through a surprise and delight factor and our kids favorite activity this time of year. He literally wants to do them daily. Here is the set we own but there are lots of awesome sets on the market.
  • Dye Easter Eggs – This is a really fun and easy activity to do with your kids. I always lay down newspapers on our outdoor picnic tables and let the kids go to town. As a fun tip let the kids draw with wax on the eggs first and a pattern will show up once the eggs are dyed.
  • Wash the kid’s cars – Our kids love this fun activity in which we load up a bucket with soapy water and let them go to town on washing their Little Tyke cars. It is a fun and easy activity and a perfect way to get all the pollen off the vehicles.

I hope these gave you some fun ideas of things to do with your kids this spring.

What are some of your favorite things to do with your kids during the spring?
