Yesterday I began a program where I will actively and specifically pray for my husband over a matter of different subjects for the next 31 days. I highly encourage all wives who read my blog (and husbands for that matter who want to pray for their wives) to join me in this activity.
First of all I’d like to say…I know what you are thinking. “I already pray for my husband everyday. What else could a specific prayer program do? Isn’t my prayers of blessings on our marriage enough?” At least that is what I was thought when I first looked into participating in this prayer program. However, after looking more into the program, I came to a realization on just how important specific, spiritual prayer is and, of how you can bless your husband’s life, through prayer. Earnest prayer for your husband is good for him, for you, and the spiritual health of your home. Satan earnestly desires to destroy your husband, especially his character and his leadership in your relationship. Daily surrendering your husband and marriage to the Lord’s wise, loving care helps Satan not have power over your marriage.
Why 31 days you might ask? The idea behind the 31 days is based off of Proverbs 31 which, if you have never read, you need to go read NOW. Yes, right now. Read the chapter before continuing to read this post. It will change your life as a woman and as a wife/mother/friend. Women today have so many expectations placed on them it’s hard for them to ever really feel successful. Proverbs 31 helps show us how to be a successful woman and be a “woman after God’s own heart.” OK enough of Proverbs 31…this post was supposed to be encouraging you all to pray for your husband and guiding you in how to do so.
Yesterday was day one and I started by praying that my husband will grow spiritualy and continually consider his accountability before the Lord. This prayer literally brought me to my kness. Today I prayed that my husband will be a man of wisdom and understanding and will fear the Lord. The prayer guide I am using was created by Revive Our Hearts by Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
Without further ado please find the plan taken from the Revive Our Hearts website and I pray you will begin this prayer journey with me.
